Secure Appplications for Loans and other apps.

Click Here for the Secure Loan App Database.If your online apps or forms are not SECURE, the auditors will see this as a major problem. We have a secure website application database program available. This database includes a loan app that your members can complete so that you can access it online, SECURELY via an SSL page. This database can also be used for other customer forms and apps as you need them. You don’t have to purchase an additional SSL certificate to use this service. We provide a shared SSL for your forms and online apps. The cost for this service is $199 onetime setup fee and just $15 per month ($180 annually). There is no limit on the number of applications that you can receive through this database. If we host and maintain your website there is no additional monthly fee for this service.

CRI Criterion / Interlend Users:
If you are a credit union that currently uses the Criteion Program and Interlend we have a different, and more robust Loan App Service that can be integrated into your Criterion Program and/or nearly any other Data Processing system. It can also be used by any other credit union as well for their general loan app in place of the one above. The biggest difference between these two loan app services is that the CUSecureApps service is somewhat more user friendly. The data entry is borken up into more defined pages so the user isn't overwhelmed, such as: Applicant/Loan Info, Address/Employer, CoApplicant (only if selected), Debts, Questions. The overall application takes on average about 10 to 12 minutes to complete.

When the first screen is completed and the user clicks the submit button, it will send a notification email to your Credit Union Loan Officer(s) to let them know that an app is being initiated. We are sending this first message instead of waiting until the member completes all of the info because of the potential that a user might get distracted or pulled away from their pc while completing the app and then possibly forget to come back to it. So with the information on the first screen complete, the Loan officer could still process a loan and have a tentative answer ready for the member in a just few minutes, possibly even before the member was to finish completing the rest of the info online.

After the user submits all of the screens online (4 or 5) another email is sent telling your loan officer(s) that the app is complete. They then can log into the Secure Online Application Management Program to View, Print and then Delete the apps from the online database.

You can use the back end management program to View, Print and then Delete the apps. Even though several of the fields, ie SSN, DOB, and Address info is obfuscated before storing in the database and the SSL connection from the end-user to the database ensures the data is transmitted securely, we still recommend that you remove the data from the database once you're done with it.

We also have the ability to add your individual Loan Types, terms and any associated disclosures to the online loan app. Instead of the CU having to send out the Credit Card disclosures or any other disclosures to the member as soon as they receive the online loan app, and then waiting for the members approval to the terms and disclosure, we now have the ability to customize your loan type and terms into the loan app itself, and have the disclosures available online at the point of the member applying for the loan.

How does this work? If you have any loan types that require a disclosure to be presented to the user, we would need a copy of that disclosure in a Word Doc or PDF. For example, if a member is applying for a Credit Card, you are required to provide that member a copy of the credit card disclosure when they apply for the credit card, before you can process the loan. Most CU's will send the credit card disclosure to the member via email or fax once they receive the app and wait for the member to sign or fax it back to meet this requirement. However, this sometimes can cause a problem in the event the loan officer "forgets" to send the credit card disclosure.

This feature in the loan app process streamlines the disclosure process and does not allow the member to continue with the loan app until they agree to and display/print the disclosure. If the member chooses a loan type that has a disclosure associated with it, the submit button becomes disabled and a new statement appears on the loan app that provides a link to the disclosure. It requires the member to choose "Yes" to agree to the terms of the Loan Type. If they choose "Yes" then the submit button at the bottom of the page will become active and allow the user to continue with the loan app process. Then when you log in to your Loan App Management site to "View/Print" the app, if the loan type had a disclosure, this information will be displayed on the loan app that you can print and include with your loan documentation to show that the member did agree to the disclosure.

This loan app service can be integrated into your Criterion Program. The data that the user enters into this loan app can be pulled into Criterion by your loan officer a the click of a button on your toolbar.

Along with this CUSecureApps service we also have available a Dealer Based App that goes back to the single page concept to make it easier for the dealer to complete. THis is a great feature for CU's that work directly with indirect dealers. This app includes more info about your vehicle that you might want to integrate into Criterion. We also have a Mobile Based app available that is more strealined and more mobile phone / tablet friendly where the data can be integrated into Criterion.

The CuSecureApp cost is $195 setup. To setup the integration of the data into Criterion the cost is $495. The monthly cost starts at $40 per month for processing up to 100 apps per month. Costs decrease at levels above 100. If you are not integrating it into the Criterion or another LOS the monthly cost is $25/month, paid annually.

The cost for setting up each Dealer App or the Mobile App is $195. The cost for integrating the additional data into Criterion is $495. The monthly cost for each of these apps if you have the regular app above is half the normal price of $40/mo which equals $20/mo each and includes an additional 100 apps each to be processed.

1. CarFax offer several free services that are very advantageous for your members. These include a Lemon Check, Record Check, Recall Check, and a Problem Car Report for the area in which someone might be looking for a vehicle.

Once a member runs one of these services to see if there a "hit" they will be presented with the option to run a full carfax report. For instance, if you run a record check on a VIN, it will tell you if there are any records for that vehicle in their database. Records in the CARFAX Vehicle History Report™ reveal important information that can affect your decision about a car. This can include:

Prior salvage, flood, or total loss reported to CARFAX;
Accidents reported to CARFAX;
Number of owners;
Odometer readings;
Service records;
Registration and title information…and more!

So then if the your member wants to see the records, they would have to pay for a report. The cost is $24.99 for 1 report, or $29.99 for up to 10 reports in a 30 day period or $34.99 for unlimited number of reports in a 30 day period. This would probably be worth it for a customer to purchase the 10 reports for $29.99 because when shopping for cars they could get reports on up to 10 different cars which would be a cost of just $2.99 each. At that point is when the carfax system collects payment from the member if they want a report.

We can create a link on your website that your loan officers could use or at least provide/recommend to your membership. As part of this your credit union can collect a $2.50 commission for every paid carfax report that a member runs, or we can apply this as a credit towards your annual hosting and maintenance fees. The following are some of the topics and guidelines that need to be taken into account when creating and maintaining a credit union website.

Facility, Equipment and Hosting Issues:

  • Our hosting facilities meet the highest level of security requirements for providing web site hosting for Credit Unions. Including 24 hour monitoring by onsite technicians, electronic access control systems and security cameras, network and equipment redundancy, enterprise level uninterruptible power supplies, Liebert environmental control systems, and diesel generators for extended emergency power.
  • Data backups are generated on a nightly basis. Also a backup is maintained "off-site" for disaster recovery purposes.
  • Our email servers provide both spam filtering capbilities and virus protection and support the use of Secure Digital Certificates.
  • We use 128-bit SSL certificates for website data encryption as needed.
  • Website updates and changes, if maintained by us, are only accepted from designated persons and must be submitted in writing (via email or fax) to ensure the accuracy of the credit union information.

Compliance Issues:

Internet Computing Solutions works with all of our credit union customers to ensure compliance. If and when we receive updated compliance information concerning any of our credit union websites, we review all of our credit union websites to ensure that all of them are compliant with the auditors. Below are some of the most common compliance issues overlooked by most web site hosting companies that simply don't have the experience to ensure your website compliance.

  • Your Share insurance logos whether by NCUA or some other Share Insurance provider must be on your home page and on each page that mentions a deposit account.
  • If your credit union does real estate loans, an equal (or fair) housing logo must be on the home page and on each page that mentions mortgages.
  • If you state an interest rate for a loan, the APR must be stated. Annual Percentage Rate must be spelled out somewhere on the page. Most websites when stating rates will have a column for APR* then state *Annual Percentage Rate on the bottom of the page.
  • If you advertise a Credit Card, the annual fee and other terms for each type must be disclosed, ie: the Schumer box must be displayed.
  • For Home Equity Loans your HE Disclosures should be on the website and any variable rate features, loan origination and interest points must be disclosed.
  • For All Loan Rates, the rate must be referenced as an APR and if you specify a term, a payment example page must be disclosed. You should create a seperate payment example page for evey loan type and term that you advertise.
  • On Savings Rate Pages and Certificate Pages you should use the term "Dividend Rates" when describing your rates. DO NOT use "Certificate of Deposits" or "CD" anywhere. You must specify at least the APY and that the term APY stands for Annual Percentage Yield. You must specify Minimum Balance requirements and terms and should disclose on all Savings or Share pages that discusses paying dividends: "All savings and investment dividend rates other than certificates are variable rates."
  • For Online Loan Apps, you should determine if it complies with Reg. Z., Reg B., and W-9 requirements. Reg. Z pertains to credit cards, the Schumer box and mortgages that require certain disclosures. Reg B. regulates equal credit. You should not require a spouse as a comaker and do not omit child support and alimony language when requesting other income.
  • If you place 3rd party links on your credit union website or offer services that are provided by a 3rd party link on your credit union website, you must first display an appropriate disclosure allowing the visitor to "opt-out" of being redirected to that 3rd party website.
