    We recommend the use of WS_FTP LE or WS_FTP Pro 6.x by IP Switch. you can find ipswitch at: www.ipswitch.com. These similar FTP clients are very easy to use and have many great features. WS_FTP LE has a non-exclusive free usage license if you are a student and/or the use of the application is for non-commercial use. Visit IPSwitch to learn more.

    WS FTP Pro 6.x is reasonably priced at only $39.95 (as of 01/01/01) and should be used if the license for WS_FTP LE does not apply to your usage according to the license agreement.

    How do I log into my account via FTP with this software?

    When you open your WS_FTP application, you will see a connection window.
    • Step #1: Create a new profile. To do this, Press the New button.
    • Step #2: Under "Profile Name", enter in your company name or simply your domain name.
    • Step #3: Enter your IP address or www.yourdomain.com in the field named "Host Name/Address:".
    • Step #4: Now enter your login on your account in the box corresponding with "User ID".
    • Step #5: Enter your account password in the field named "Password".
    • Finally, make sure that the "Anonymous" box is not checked. You may choose to select the box entitled "Save Pwd" this will store your password for future use.
    Now press the "OK" button near the bottom left of the window and you will automatically be logged into your account via FTP.

    You may use any FTP client you wish. Use of FTP is certainly not restricted to our recommended software. There are dozens of high quality FTP clients to choose from, all of which have their benefits and downsides. Some of the other popular FTP clients include Absolute FTP and Cute FTP.
